Kendrick, Torey Hope: The Later Years
A.D. Ellis
Spunky and independent, Jay Keller only wants to have fun, having long ago decided that love is reserved for people living fairy tale lives.
Kendrick Jordan is a sarcastic, inappropriate smartass whose sense of humor, intense love of family, and serial dating habits enable him to mask his painful past.
Through a chance encounter, Jay gives Kendrick a chance to satisfy his curiosity with no strings attached. But when Kendrick’s past catches up with him and Jay is dealt a life-altering blow, they find themselves turning to each other for support.
After a traumatic accident threatens their new-found love, Jay and Kendrick must decide if their relationship is worth the terrifying and painful journey they now face.
**Kendrick and Jay's story is meant for ages 18+ due to adult themes, language, and situations. Sensitive readers should be warned of possible triggers in the storyline.**

Sawyer Morgan has a secret. Revealing his true feelings to his family could bring devastation and destruction, so he keeps the burden firmly on his own shoulders. When he moves back to Torey Hope to help with the family business, Sawyer’s hidden truth becomes too much to bear.
Luke Hamilton has a past overflowing with emotional and physical scars. A promise to his dying mother prevents him from seeking the love and acceptance he longs for. Taking a job in Torey Hope brings Luke face-to-face with taboo desires he thought long extinguished.

REVIEW

5 stars

Sawyer knew he was gay from a young age. He never knew how to go about coming out to family. The first to know was Katie his girlfriend in high school. After catching him with another boy, he came clean with her. She stood beside him and encouraged him to come out to his family. He still never felt the time was right. He struggled with this all through college. Now back home in Torey Hope, he knew he needed to have that talk with his twin brother Decker. Then with his cousins since they were all so close. He knew that living in Torey Hope and being gay was going to be difficult. A small town where a lot of people knew his family and were involved with the Center+ that they ran. He was looking for that one man that would be his forever. Meeting Luke at the Center+, he felt such a connection to him. Luke told Sawyer it wasn't going to work. He didn't feel that way about men. Luke made a promise to his mother. To him that meant never acknowledging the feeling he had for men. He tried to resist Sawyer, but he felt that connection to him he had never felt with any one else.
This is a gripping story. Two men both having to come to terms with revealing their true identities and sexualities. Both having different experiences with what has happened in their past. What happens when the truth is revealed to family. How to deal with it and learn to be true to their selves and build a relationship based on love. Filled with pain, sorrow and lots of romance. What can be with the love of family friends and that one true special person in your life.Received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review
