"When I compare the quality of the writing, the complexity of the plot and
the development of the characters in this series to other books I have awarded
4 or even 4.5 stars to, this one is clearly worthy of a much higher rating than
many of them. Not only do I look forward to reading more in the series I am
also really excited and can hardly wait." - Lindsay and Jane's

Excerpt:

Her heart pounding,
Bianca Lucchesi smiled at the man she’d come to see while doing her best to
ignore the one she’d never wanted to see again. Antonio Legato. She’d arranged
to meet her uncle at the bank instead of at his home because she’d hoped to
avoid Antonio. And here he was anyway.
Dio mio,
would her heart never slow down? One glimpse of him had been enough to bring
everything back. Everything she’d tried so damn hard to suppress. To forget.

She widened her
smile. “Zio Enrico,” she said as her uncle came around the desk and embraced
her, kissing her on both cheeks. Marriage had agreed with her godfather. He was
still lean, still handsome as sin, with that black hair and those chocolate
eyes. He looked happy again—not stricken, the way he’d been at the funerals for
her father and her brother Fedele.

Prego,” he
said, motioning to the chair beside Antonio. “I don’t believe you’ve met my capo
di società
, Antonio Legato.”

Would Antonio say
something about their past? She stuck out her hand and tried to appear mildly
interested. Anything but infuriated. Or hurt. “Don Legato,” she said.

Antonio rose and
took her hand in his large one. Cristo, he’d grown. He was a man now—at
least six feet, with the broad shoulders and slim hips of a male in his prime.

His blue eyes met
hers, a shock of unruly blond hair falling just over them. A wave of heat
rolled through her. How many nights had she dreamed of him? How many times had
she relived those moments they’d spent together?

He flashed her a
casual smile, as if he were completely unaffected by her, and pressed a kiss to
her knuckles, the light brush of his lips reminding her of other places he’d
kissed.

“Signorina
Lucchesi. It’s a pleasure. I haven’t seen you since secondary school.”

“I wasn’t aware you
knew each other,” Enrico said.

“We had a class
together,” Antonio said. “Chemistry, I believe.”

Bianca wanted to
kick him in the shin. Was he trying to flirt with her? Chemistry! Yes,
they’d had it. But outside of class.

“You’re mistaken, signore.
It was biology, not chemistry.”

“My error.” He was
still grinning at her—the arrogant bastard. Did he think she still wanted him?
Well, if he did, he was wrong.

Antonio released
her hand, and they retook their seats. Bianca’s skin tingled where he had
touched her, and she resisted the urge to press her hand to her mouth, to feel
that tingling against her lips.
Damn him. Antonio Legato was a hundred
different kinds of infuriating.

And he knew it.

Book three in the Blood and honor series. Antonio Legato was taken in by Enrico Lucchesi after being placed in an orphanage. He worked his way up to capo di societa. He was always waiting for Enrico to replace him with actual blood relative. As things heat up between the families, Antonio runs into Bianca Lucchesi again. After taking her virginity at fifteen they were separated by her father and Antonio always felt he wasn't good enough for her. Unknown to him that night resulted in her becoming pregnant and the baby being put up for adoption. As the families start breaking alliance Antonio finds himself falling in love with Bianca and both of them trying to keep their son alive.

In the first two books you get bits and pieces of Antonio's story. Finally in this one you get the whole story. How he came to be put into the orphanage. Bianca was sent to get close to Antonio for her brothers. As she spends time with him the truth comes out that he didn't know about the baby and they find themselves falling in love. The characters in this series have depth and they constantly grow and change. The author put a lot of research into these books. Allowing you to get a good grip on the workings of the mafia.

Reviews:

"The suspense keeps the pages moving quickly in book
two of the Blood and Honor series. There are numerous characters, but Delamar
does a wonderful job of incorporating them so that readers keep abreast of the
story. A fast pace, credible characters and a complex plot guarantee hours of
entertainment." -- RT Book Reviews, 4 stars

"Retribution
was great... oh so damn great. So this is the second book in the Blood and
Honor series and I loved it even better than the first one.... Another
wonderful story filled with action, love, forgiveness, and some awfully hot
steamy scenes! This story was beautifully written and I hope you pick it up and
read it!" -- Reading on the Wild Side blog, 4.5 stars

"You are kept on the edge of your seat until the very
last page, just like at the end of "Revenge", "Retribution"
has a teaser for the next novel that makes me excited to read the next novel.
If you liked "Revenge" you will love "Retribution"; this is
easily a stand alone novel; I'm just glad that there is more to come in this
series." -- Steph's Book Retreat blog, 4.5 stars

Excerpt:

Nick turned the
music up and caught Delfina’s eye. Was it just his imagination, or had she been
admiring his bare arse? “Watching me, were you?” he asked, keeping his voice
pitched low.
She blushed, roses
staining her cheeks. His chest felt lighter than it had in weeks. “I’m not
answering that.”

He strode over to
her and leaned in, forcing her to sprawl back on the bed, caged within his
arms. He placed his lips near her ear. “Your blush told me everything. Every
single naughty thought you were having.”

Madonna,
she muttered and braced her hands against his chest. “You’re getting a swollen
head.”
He darted his
tongue out and ran it along the edge of her ear. “Most certainly.” He put a
knee up on the bed and rubbed his hard length along her thigh.

She laughed and
pushed against him, but he didn’t budge. “Time to get undressed,” he whispered.
Her hands went to the buttons that ran down the front of the silk blouse tucked
into her skirt. She played with the top one.

“Now?” she asked,
her voice lilting and playful.

“Now.” He rumbled
the word in her ear and she shivered. “Take it off. I want to see you. All of
you.”

This is the second book in the Blood and Honor series. Nick Clarkston the illegitimate son of Enrico Lucchesi works for Interpol. Not knowing who is father really is, he was raised by his grandparents after his mothers suicide. All Nick remembers about his father is him leaving him after his mothers death. While Enrico had good reason, Nick just felt abandoned. Finding out who his father really is he wants revenge. When Dario Andretti offers to help him get his revenge Nick jumps at the chance. Thinking he can take care of himself and play the mob to get what he wants. He doesn't realize that the mob is playing him and he is in over his head. Turning to Dario's daughter Delfina she tries to steer him the right direction. At times Nick is so arrogant (wonder where that trait comes from) he just ends up getting deeper and deeper.

Where I had trouble getting into the first book Revenge because of the amount of characters, coming into this one I was already familiar with most of them. Some new ones were added but nothing overwhelming. There was so much emotion in this book. Action-packed, seat gripping, love, forgiveness so much packed into this one book. You won't want to put it down. The characters are so emotionally gripping. They are far from perfect but yet they love and fight with everything they have. Can't wait to read the third book.
