Synopsis
“Grabbing the beers and starting to turn towards the dance floor, I felt a slight tap on my shoulder. Turning around, I lost it and dropped the two bottles on the ground. I couldn’t hear the crashing of the glasses the way my heart was beating so loudly out of my chest. It’s him. Colton Wilson!”
For as long as she could remember small town girl, Carrington Mason had been smitten with Avery High School quarterback, Colton Wilson. The only obstacle standing between her and her destiny was an entitled blonde named Paisley Parker, along with 100 lbs of extra baggage.

After receiving a heartbreaking phone call from her father pleading for her legal expertise, Carrington forced to return to the very place she loathed the most.
Returning to Avery, it seems nothing has changed since high school, especially her feelings for Colt. Exploring her new found body and attitude, Carrington is determined to change her and her family’s fate including catching the eye of her crush. With the help of her two best friends, Harley and Skye, Carrington sets out to capture the man of her dreams while saving her father’s farm. REVIEW
4 stars
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Carrington returns home to Avery after a phone call from her father asking for legal help. She hadn't been back since high school graduation. Being bullied and having her life made miserable didn't leave Carrington with to many warm memories of home. She missed her father and grandmother and her two best friends Harley and Skye. Not even that could get her to return. How can she tell her father no. In all these years he has never asked her for anything. She just hoped and prayed she could get through the visit and not run into Cole. The high school football player she has a major crush on back then. And so what that she still had dreams about him. He would never look twice at the over weight nerd girl. Even now after losing the weight he still didn't think she stood a chance.
What a sweet romantic book. Carrington was a wonderful character. She was feisty and finally had the guts to stand up for herself. Running into Cole her first night home wasn't exactly what she had planned but she held up great. Cole, sexy, sweet friendly Cole. To him Carrington returning meant he might finally get his chance with her. He never saw her as she saw herself. Wonderful story and I love how the relationship grows between Carrington and Cole.

I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in The Southern Gentleman Series. Skye has been best friends with Wyatt since the day in kindergarten when he pulled her pigtails. Now all grown up she is in love with him but doesn't want to take the chance of ruining their friendship. Wyatt flirts with Skye as much as possible and he loves being her best friend, but since that day in the field when they kissed she has kept him in the friend zone. When Skye's unknown twin sister Summer arrives in town, Skye doesn't trust her and when she makes a play for Wyatt and he reciprocates she figured she lost her chance. When Summer sends Skye's art to a gallery and they want to do a showing. Skye meets the owner Jesse's and when he makes a play for her she jumps into a relationship with him. People are all not what they seem to be.
Great second book. There was quite a bit of sexual tension between Skye and Wyatt in the first book. It really heats up in this book. Wyatt after being shot down the first time is afraid to put himself back out there, so he just flirts and picks up women. It is a great guy. Skye is outgoing, friendly and a wonderful group of friends. Watching Wyatt all theses years and being afraid to make a move. My only problem with this book is Wyatt sleeping with Summer. I know Skye and Wyatt weren't together but sleeping with the sister would be a deal breaker in my book. I felt a little better when I got to the end but it stilled bothered me. I can't wait for Harley's story.
