Review: Longing For You

Longing For You Longing For You by Mayra Statham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jess Logan was meeting her sons girlfriends father for the first time. Drew wanted both his parents there. But as usual his fathers wife didn't want to be around his mother. Jess walking into the restaurant never in her wildest imagination would have thought that Chloe's father was the one man that broke her heart that over thirty years later still could make her feel the pain. Scott Kostas always remembered Jess as the one who got away. Something he has regretted ever since. No that he would trade his daughters in but he still felt that love for Jess and here she was standing in front of him. His daughters boyfriends mother. What were the odds.

I loved the emotions in this story. I think anyone who has every had one that got away has dreamed of a moment where they got a second chance and how it would go. Very few get that chance and sometimes that's all it is, a dream. For Jess and Scott once the shock wears off it becomes that chance. But with over thirty years in between, so much hurt and pain. Besides having another life without each other. Can you really go back and capture what you had? Both single with adult children. Getting past all that baggage is hard but sometimes love is so worth it. I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
