Review: 5 Stages of Riley Winters

5 Stages of Riley Winters 5 Stages of Riley Winters by R.D. Berg
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Riley Winters is trying to pick up the pieces of her life. After her divorce from her drug addicted abusive ex. He three year old son River doesn't speak and fights with every speech therapist they have had. Until Liam. Liam showing up at the door, changed more then River's life, it changed hers. While at the same time she didn't want to drag Liam into the train wreck that was her life. She found herself looking forward to seeing him each time. River connected with Liam from the first time. Liam found himself falling in love with the little boy and his mother. He wasn't going to let her get away.

I loved Liam, he was your sexy level headed man. Speech therapist by day and rock star at night. He was kind caring and would do anything for Riley and River. His instant family. Riley I had problems with at times. She is dealing with grief for her marriage. her ex husband is harassing her and while she has feeling for Liam she does try to keep him out of her mess. While on the other hand, she is keeping the threats that her ex are making to herself. I would think she had enough sense to report them and worry more about keeping her son safe. Then trying to build a relationship with Liam and keeping secrets from him. The book is well written and does flow at a comfortable pace so for that I give it 4 stars. If I was judging on Riley alone, it would be lower. So many times I wanted to reach in and smack her. Liam kept me going. I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
